Let me start off by saying I'm a bad blogger. I mean a REALLY bad blogger. I think this is namely because when I start blogging, I start thinking I should be doing something else: writing some chapters, deleting some words or moving scenes around--something, anything to make The Manuscript better.
That said, I want to blog... I need to blog. I need share a little about what I've been working on with The Manuscript. Today I've been working on how character's change.
So what happens is that the narrator and her family go through The Really Horrible Experience (ie the inciting incident), which, I'm pleased announce, thanks to a little editing magic, now happens in the second chapter instead of the sixth. PHEW! Let's hear it for editing magic. It's my fave.

Learning Calculus and Listening to Music

Yesterday I...
...did not learn calculus, despite working on it for about 2 hours. Turns out it takes longer than that to learn. Yes, I know 2 hours really wasn't enough time to learn an entire subject, but I couldn't focus any longer than that. There is just too much drama with the boys (family and otherwise). It makes my mind feel like soup. So, in attempt to solve the Julia-is-failing-calc dilemma, I scheduled a meeting with my teacher for Monday—a real dent in the very little pride that I have left.

NaNoWriMo by Numbers
It wouldn't be weird if you had no idea what NaNoWriMo was. I know about it, but I'm also one of the eccentric writing types that thrives on deadlines. You may very well not be one of those types, which should further your claim to residence in Normalville. I hear it's a nice place.
National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.
For me, last week was JoNoOutWe, or Joanna's Novel Outlining Week. I had a few concepts floating
